The Bob
Morgan Show!
With over 45 years of Top 40 radio under his collective
belt, Bob Morgan is two (or more!) of radio's
most talented personalities.
Bob Morgan spent well over a decade at
KGBS AM&FM/TEN-Q/KHTZ in Los Angeles under the
blanket of the historic Storer Broadcasting outlet on
Western Avenue. In the eighties, he filled the bill
perfectly for the original oldies station in Los
Angeles, KRLA. During his stay at the stations,
Bob filled every role from music director, news director
and assistant manager in addition to his regular daily
show. Bob filled every daypart, and was consistently a
winner in every slot. He worked with almost every radio
personality in Los Angeles, including such legends as
"Emperor" Bob Hudson, Ron Landry,
Bill Ballance, Dave Hull, Roger
Christian, Al "Jazzbeaux" Collins, The
Real Don Steele and Bobby Dale just to
mention a few. He is in every sense of the word, a major
market radio talent. With his off-the-wall sense of
humor and timing, his listeners not only realize he is
slightly nuts, but more importantly, he actually listens
along with his audience to the music he plays. You can't
listen to Bob without coming away with a feeling you've
just been exposed to a very sick man.
Making frequent appearances, Russ O'Hara
is on an equal plane. He is the quintessential music
radio personality. With his deep sexy voice, he has been
enchanting rock and roll music lovers for over forty
years. From KGFJ, KRLA and KKDJ, Russ has not only
proven he can rock with the best of them, but makes you
quiver when he turns on that "Russ O'Hungry" persona.
Wherever Russ is on the air, he continually brings in
the high numbers, regardless of the format. Program
directors all over the country have always respected
Russ as one of the most marketable radio personalities
in the business. He has emceed some of the largest rock
concerts in the country, pumping up audiences for the
likes of The Doors, the Moody Blues, Jimi
Hendrix, Janis Joplin, the Rolling Stones and
countless other giant rock stars. There may be a few
still around who know the business as well, but nobody
knows how to turn on a radio audience any better than
Russ O'Hara. By the way, Russ is a little
irregular as well.
The Bob Morgan Show Mission Statement |
Our mission is two-fold.
First, we believe that it is incumbent upon
those of us who helped pave the way for
today’s radio personalities to exercise
their craft, to keep the roots of Top 40
radio alive and well. We also believe it is
our responsibility to assure that the
artists and musicians who wrote, produced
and performed what is now called “vintage”
Rock And Roll music are kept in the
spotlight, and whose names are never
forgotten. We will accomplish this by
presenting vintage Rock And Roll music in
the same manner we did on the radio when the
music was current, peppering the
presentation with our own unique styles.
Second, we believe that in a world saturated
with grief, constant conflict and the
continuing bombardment of political and
economic upheaval, both foreign and
domestic, the average person needs a place
where they can occasionally escape. A place
where they can come and spend a time without
suffering the stress of today’s bad news. We
will provide this place of escape by
avoiding the debate and conversation of
anything serious or important. We will be
the catharsis for complete and utter
disregard for anything that could be
potentially thought provoking or otherwise
stimulates a person’s intellect, other than
sparking memories of better times. In short,
a haven for anyone wishing to simply shed
themselves of the garbage of the day.
